GAMAA Code of Conduct

We will measure our performance by the collection and dissemination of information. We will work toward the rationalisation of events, activities and occasions with the graphic arts and related industries in a way which assists the total industry. We will foster an interchange of information and seek closer ties with international organisations with like objectives.

We will continually review GAMAA's mission. To review our membership balance to ensure that it is representative and provides for continued growth. We will actively support the promotion and marketing of the Australian Printing Industry.

We, the members of GAMAA, recognise that, in the conduct of our business, each individual should act with proper regard for our fellow members, customers, competitors, employees and the community. We further recognise that the spirit of competition is deeply ingrained in our society and, through free enterprise, enters and influences every transaction.

We believe that high standards of integrity and ethical behaviour are a condition of membership. As members of GAMAA we are pledged to conduct our business in accordance with the following principals:

Relationships with customers

The customer is the basis of our business existence. We have a responsibility to our customers and to ourselves to foster a relationship of trust and respect which ensures a long-lasting mutually profitable association. To achieve this goal: We will strive at all times to provide quality products and services.  We will advise our customers wisely on the products and services we market and their suitability to our customers' needs. We will not knowingly mislead or misrepresent our products and services in pursuit of competitive advantage.

Commitment to the industry

We are committed to the development of the Graphic Arts and related industries. We will contribute to this development through the provision of advice and material support. We accept the obligation to provide ongoing training and education in order to secure the future development of the Industry.  We will co-operate with other industry bodies in all matters that relate to the well-being of the Industry. We will actively represent to Government industry as appropriate

Responsibility to employees

We will treat our employees fairly and we will not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, age, sex or creed. We will strive at all times to create and maintain a safe working environment for our people and we will meet or exceed the requirement of all applicable legislation.  We will seek, through training and education, to develop our peoples' skills and pride in their company and the industry.

Community responsibilities

We will be good citizens in the communities in which we are located and at all times recognise and respond to the needs and concerns of the wider community in matters relating to safety, health and the environment.
