Change Management - New World, New Rules - Residential Workshop

Sydney – 23-24th October – HC Coombs Centre, Kirribilli

Over the past 6 years, GAMAA has established a reputation for creating workshops that reflect the emerging leadership needs of the print industry.  In particular this two day residential programme is designed to assist participants in developing practical and tangible skills that will enable them to embrace the different leadership styles that are needed to effectively manage change.

With the many challenges facing both our industry and individual businesses, GAMAA has created something that you will not experience anywhere else.

Programme Focus:
With rapid change and tough economic times, effective leadership becomes even more of a necessity. Resilience and resilient leadership is something many individuals aspire to. In the year 2009, resilience is a trait we want to teach our kids. It is no surprise we also want it in our corporate leaders.

So what is Resilient Leadership?

As with all forms of leadership it has various components including:

  • Bouncing back from adversity
  • Thriving on the challenge, rather than retreating from it
  • Staying calm, focussed and radiating confidence
  • Generating hope and optimism in others
  • Reaching your full potential and the potential of others – despite trying circumstances
  • How we manifest change in ourselves and others

Culture – what does the Australian leader look like?

Do Australians have a unique way of leading?

This session will explore the challenges and myths surrounding culture and leadership in Australia. As a result of this session we want you to be able to:

  • Understand the Aussies values that clash with popular change approaches
  • Differentiate between leadership styles to facilitate positive change
  • Understand the biology of change and how to create the right atmosphere
  • Managing transitions

Importantly you will discover a number of strategies allowing you to re-build your own confidence and energy levels. Ultimately this will enable you to become a more constructive leader for these challenging times.

Our presenters for this workshop are John Gibney and Colin Beattie.  Both are outstanding practitioners with vast experience in the areas of Change, Organisational Development and Leadership.  You can expect their sessions to be reflective, inter-active and inspiring.
