Individuals from across the printing and graphics industries were given time to explore and experiment with new ideas around personal leadership at the GAMAA Leadership Workshop in Sydney earlier this month.
GAMAA Education Program Manager Sam Crock described the workshop, ‘Creative Leadership and Innovation’, as intensive and challenging, once again pushing participants to achieve excellent results.
“The workshop focused on exploring what a creative culture looks like and how as an industry we need to understand the imperative of innovation in the 21st century,” said Ms. Crock. “This workshop was designed to help people develop strategies to think outside the square. We all know there have been many times when we’ve thought “surely there’s got to be a better way of doing this?” or “if what you’re getting is not what you want then maybe it’s time to rethink what you are doing.”
“By bringing some of the leading minds in creative leadership and innovative thinking together, GAMAA provided the workshop participants with the chance to learn and develop innovative and practical solutions to these questions.”
Several workshop participants shared their thoughts on the GAMAA Leadership Workshop experience:
“This workshop gave me the opportunity to absorb, relate, experiment and trial leadership concepts in an environment that is not inhibiting. Being around like-minded people is both inspiring and encouraging, and I have benefited greatly from the experience.’ Franca Balsamo - Canon Australia.
"I have been involved in training and development for most of my adult life. The GAMAA workshops provide a calibre of facilitator rarely seen at usual courses. The content really complements my studies and the environment created to experience this is very safe, allowing us to explore the full implications of the dynamics available." Kelly Bourke - SOS Media
"The personal development and growth attained though the GAMAA Leadership Workshops has increased personal value to my employer though being more effective as a leader and coach." Matthew Collins - CPI Print Group
GAMAA is already planning the 2007 GAMAA Leadership workshops to be held in May and August said Ms. Crock. “Next year’s Melbourne workshop will focus on High Performing Teams, while the Sydney workshop in September will look into Developing Strategic Customer Focus.”
The 2007 Programme will be launched in November. For more information visit www.gamaa.net.au
