GAMAA has awarded four Leadership Scholarships for 2010.The successful applicants
are Adrian Sheedy, Blue Star; Erin Mercieca Manroland; Mark George, Böttcher and;
Matt McRobert NSW Department of Lands.
Mitchell Mulligan, President GAMAA congratulated the scholars on behalf of the GAMAA members. “It is with great pleasure that GAMAA is once again able to assist those in our industry in the pursuit of further education. GAMAA scholars benefit personally from this programme as does the industry in developing the leaders of tomorrow”.
The GAMAA Leadership Programme has awarded over thirty eight scholarships since its inception in 2002. In 2010 scholars will have the opportunity to learn from some of the leading minds in leadership techniques and strategic management.
On notification of their scholarships, recipients had the following comments:
Adrian Sheedy: “I am absolutely delighted to be part of the GAMAA scholarship programme. I’m looking forward to the challenges the programme offers in leadership and eventually implementing these skill sets into an ever changing business landscape”.
Erin Mercieca: “The GAMAA workshops I have attended have been both beneficial in my working and social life. I am keen to grow in the printing industry and wish to learn in all aspects. I thank GAMAA members for their support and belief in me to give me this opportunity”.
Mark George: “All my working life I’ve looked at what the next day would bring, who I’d meet, what I’d learn and who would learn from me. GAMAA’s Leadership Programme brings together all these aspects, and fits perfectly with my future goals. To be offered a place amongst so many talented colleagues is personally very rewarding”.
Matt McRobert: “I began attending GAMAA workshops two years ago. GAMAA delivers workshops that are always topical, relevant and presented by facilitators who are the best in their field. There is no doubt my exposure to these learning experiences has made me a more productive and effective manager. Being a GAMAA scholar means I will be able to continue the journey of personal and professional growth in an environment that is challenging, motivating, at times confronting and always rewarding”.
D2P has been a member of GAMAA for four years. Managing Director John Weichard talks about what he sees as the major benefits of his association with GAMAA.
“Getting to know the heavy hitters of the industry and in turn them knowing D2P better,” is one of the real perks says Weichard. He continues. “At various times the industry has seen D2P as a pretty out there kind of company and the opportunity for the members to get to know D2P and myself has allowed us to show there is some method to our madness.
And from a personal standpoint, I can have conversations with the people at GAMAA that I can’t have with customers or staff.”
“It is amazing to think that D2P enters its twelfth year in 2009 after starting in a Richmond lounge room, with three founders, 28 computers and one idea about delivering artwork over the Internet.
D2P has always focused on making it easier for Graphic Arts businesses to do business online, and we have never stopped progressing.
Some of the D2P highlights along the way:
1998 John met Luke McNeilage who had a wacky idea about delivering artwork over the Internet
1999 Invented the “Little Green Box” Internet Gateway/Firewall/Server for managing the online presence of our clients
After 11 years of charming, coaxing and cajoling members of the Australian Graphic Arts Industry to utilise the Internet better in their businesses we are seeing that the decision for all businesses to truly embrace the Internet is easier than it has ever been.
After years and millions of dollars invested in R&D, D2P can now say your website can be an Online Business with Success – Predictable, Accountable, Repeatable.”
GAMAA will host two new residential Leadership Workshops in 2010—one in Sydney and the other Melbourne. Look out for information on these workshops in the new year.
