The GAMAA-LIA Biennial National Graduate Scholarship Prize

The GAMAA-LIA National Graduate Scholarship Prize, presented biennially, is sponsored by GAMAA on condition that the funds must be used in the furtherance of the winner's education. The $15,000 prize is presented at the Lithographic Institute Association (LIA) Biennual Conference.

Ten graduates, winners from the previous and current year State competitions, vie for this prestigious Prize. The 2007 Prize, presented in October, was won by Sarah Thomas, a prepress operator at Collotype Labels of South Australia. Collotype is arguably the most awarded label printer in the world.

Sarah received her Prize certificate from Karen Goldsmith, Executive Director of GAMAA, at the LIA Gala Presentation Dinner recognising the Victorian Printing Industries PICA Award winners, the LIA-Heidelberg Graduate of the Year Award and The LIA–Printing Industries Future Leaders Award.

In presenting the Prize, Karen emphasised the value of the long term relationship that GAMAA had developed with the LIA, seeing it as an important long term investment in the future of the industry.
